Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive treatment that uses electromagnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells, which may improve symptoms of depression/mental health. Repetitive TMS isn’t invasive and doesn’t require anesthesia so it can be performed on an outpatient basis. A typical treatment session lasts about half an hour. You’ll remain awake and alert during the procedure and you can return to your normal daily activities.
